COMPOSER

As a composer Alastair has written music for the concert hall and media projects

Alastair’s concert music has won prizes and had many performances worldwide.In 2001 he was the only European finalist in Masterprize with his orchestral work Hit The Ground (Running, Running, Running) which was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding and broadcast by BBC Radio 3.

Alastair has contributed music to many media projects including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the Academy-Award winning Wallace & Gromit movie, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and ITV’s The Last Detective. He worked with Martin Phipps on the BBC Drama Small Island which won the 2010 BAFTA Award for Original Television Music.
