Alastair is a regular conductor of the Chamber Orchestra Of London (COOL) and has conducted many other orchestras and choirs including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, London Session Orchestra, Metro Voices, RSVP Voices, BBC Philharmonic, the Bach Choir, the Choir of the King’s Consort, BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and the Vienna ORTF Orchestra. As well as conducting a huge range of TV, film and commercial sessions, Alastair has also conducted concert works of his own and other contemporary composers.
Alastair also conducted the music for the Channel 4 drama ANY HUMAN HEART which went on to win the BAFTA for Television Soundtrack, an Ivor Novello Award and two EMMY nominations. Composer Dan Jones paid tribute to Alastair in his BAFTA interview.

Alastair conducted the Vienna ORTF Orchestra in a tribute to Harry Potter. This Gala Concert was attended by a 2,000 sell-out audience and televised by ATV.
